What the paper testsMethod, not memory

Air Navigation is examined as a working paper. You are given a position, a track, a wind or a chart and asked to produce a number — so knowing that convergency exists is worth nothing if you cannot get to ch.long × sin(mean lat) under time pressure.

The bank is built around that. Questions are grouped by the chapter that generates them, so you can drill one formula until it stops costing you time, then move on.

The most common losses in this paper are not conceptual. They are minutes read as degrees, an east–west change of longitude signed the wrong way, departure computed at the wrong latitude, and TAS used where groundspeed was wanted.
