What the paper testsA Rotax is not a Lycoming

The Rotax 912 runs far higher engine RPM through a reduction gearbox, uses liquid-cooled cylinder heads with air-cooled barrels, has electronic dual ignition rather than magnetos, and has its own oil, coolant and fuel requirements.

Candidates who learned their engine theory on a Lycoming lose marks here on habit alone, which is exactly what the paper is checking.
